Hypothesis

Agricultural economy type (Herding-Plus, Egalitarian, Individualistic, or Semi-Marketized) will be associated with the presence of certain political institutions. (116)

Note

Hd+ economies are significantly positively associated with capital intensity of production. Eg economies are significantly positively associated with extent of cousin marriage, and negatively associated with social inequalities of free population, capital intensity of production, and extent of fixed rents on land. IF economies are positively associated with social inequalities of free population and extent of fixed rents on land, and negatively associated with percentage of subsistence production by women. SM economies are positively associated with extent of fixed rents on land, and negatively associated with percentage of subsistence production by women.
