Hypothesis

Violence against women will be positively associated with high male-to-female sex ratio. (1)

Note

Sex ratio is significantly negatively associated with punishment for rape (r = -0.52) and positively associated with presence of wife beating (r = 0.54), but only marginally significantly associated with frequency of rape (r = 0.64).
