Hypothesis
Warfare of all types (external, internal and overall) will be negatively related to proportion of noncombative sports and positively related to proportion of individual combative sports, team combative sports, and sham combats.
Note
Proportion of sham combat is significantly related to all forms of warfare (.37 to .48); internal warfare and overall warfare are also significantly negatively related to noncombative sports (-.26 and -.26, respectively). Individual homicide and socially organized homicides are significantly negatively related to noncombative sports and to individual combative sport.
