Hypothesis
"Where . . . cross cousins of the opposite sex . . . are potential spouses, the behavior patterns exhibited . . . are predominantly those of joking or license, but where marriage [between] them is prohibited the patterns are similar to . . . those prevailing between brother and sister" (368)
