Hypothesis
Where a society's subsistence economy generates a more complex form of social organization, there will be a lower concentration of value emphases in children's socialization (p. 365).
Note
The results vary by gender and subsistence type. For herding and intensive agriculture societies, the association with value concentration is negative for males and positive for females. In horticultural societies, the association is positive for both genders. In shifting agriculture societies, it is negative for both genders.
