Hypothesis
Ancestral economic production and living arrangements will be correlated with levels of and attitudes towards intimate partner violence today.
Note
For economic production, only dependence on agriculture (negative) and dependence on fishing (positive) were correlated with levels of violence (p<0.1). Dependence on fishing and dependence on gathering were the only two variables not correlated with attitudes towards IPV. Endogamy, patrilocality, and polygyny were all positively and significantly correlated with IPV (p<0.1). Endogamy and patrilocality were also positively and significantly correlated with attitudes towards IPV in both men and women (p<0.1). Polygyny was negatively and significantly correlated with attitudes towards IPV in both men and women (p<0.01).
