Hypothesis

Human investment in pets will sacrifice their reproductive success on behalf of pets.

Note

The research explores whether human investment in pets could go against the evolutionary theory, since it states that humans will not sacrifice their own fitness for others. After studying the challenge of altruism across species, the results show that human-pet interactions do not challenge the evolutionary theory.
