Hypothesis
Matriliny will be positively associated with reliance on fishing as measured by reef density (2).
Note
To control for the effects of vertical descent, the authors conduct a similar analysis within a random sample of Solomon Island villages. They report a significant relationship between reef density and matriliny when controlling for phylogenetic effects within an ethnolinguistic group.
